In this day and age staying connected to friends, family and my job is of utmost importance. I don’t know what I would do without my laptop. It has afford me opportunities that twenty-years ago I would of never thought possible.

For the last five-years I’ve been able to build a successful online business using my laptop from home. It has allowed me to leave my brick and mortar job and raise and support my family directly from my home office. For me and my family, staying connected and working from home has become our way of life. While not every member of our family has a laptop, they do all have cell phones and tablets which allows us to stay connected in case of emergencies or just typical day-to-day communication needs when we are away from one another.

When I was growing up, we had one phone in our home and it was attached to the wall. There were no computers, no cell phones, no tables and staying connected to friends and family required you to either make a phone call, send a letter in the mail, drive, fly or take a bus or train to your destination. Now, I can talk with any of my family members or friends with a click of a button, and most of the time, see them live online! How cool is that? We’ve come a long way.
