It’s said that Necessity is the mother of invention.  I say that Mother’s Invent Whenever Necessary! That’s certainly the case with Camera Coats.  Creator, Emily Ashby, ON a family trip, she didn’t want to take more bags on the plane, than she absolutely had too.  She stitched up a “sack” to put her 3 year old’s video game in.  Thinking again, she decided that her camera was more important to her, and used that sack for it instead.  Camera Coats was born.

I have several Camera Coats and I like them all, but my absolute favorite is the Urban Green/Teal, as shown above.  I have the matching camera strap and Lens Bag too! They wipe clean with a camp cloth and  “coat” is just the right size to keep in my backpack when I’m traveling!

How Camera Coats “Gives Back”

Refugees & Locals: Looking for local women to sew for us was a natural was to start our production. We love employing refugee women with amazing sewing skills and local women (mostly stay at home moms) with an opportunity to help support their families. These women bring amazing handcrafting skills to our products.

Adults with disabilities: We believe everyone deserves a chance to work and contribute to our community.  Teaming up with a local non-profit TURN Community Services we now have adults with disabilities at TURN Community Services who tag, package, and ship our products. (They love Camera Coats and we love them!)
