Contouring
Just about everybody is talking about contouring; all the celebrities and makeup artists are using it! What does it do? To put it simply, it enhances your features and makes your face look more defined. It can create cheekbones, make areas you don’t like less obvious, and make areas you do like more obvious. You contour using a light shade and a dark shade. It’s up to you whether you use foundations or powders. You’ll need to decide what works best for you! You then need to blend like there’s no tomorrow, because there’s nothing worse than when you can tell somebody has contoured. It’s great for a big night out when you want to feel your best!
Bold Lips
Bold lips look amazing when done right. I like to prep my lips by exfoliating them and using a good SPF, so they are nice and soft and ready for the application of any product. I always line my lips, as this helps to define them and make them look larger. Sometimes I fill them in with the liner and leave them, and sometimes I go over with a different lipstick. I also use a little highlighter on my top lip and bronzer on the bottom to make them stand out! Again, you just need to make sure everything is blended perfectly. If this is an extra special occasion and you really want to make a statement, use glitter on your lips!
Statement Eyes
If you want to play up your eyes more than your lips, you can do that too. You could do something fairly simple, like use a bold color and then apply false lashes. False lashes are essential for finishing off any eye makeup look! Or you could use some Halloween makeup supplies to create a really striking pattern around the eye area, which is perfect for parties and festivals! I suggest using colors you know suits your eye color to make them really pop. You can use liquid liner to make your eyes stand out even more, creating a sort of ‘cat eye’ shape. Invest in a good liner if you plan on doing something like this, as it can make all the difference to your success!
Don’t be afraid to make more of a statement with your makeup if it’s a special occasion. You’ll feel amazing and people will more than likely ask you for tips! Just be sure you watch a few YouTube tutorials if you don’t really know what you’re doing. Practice before the big day too, to make sure you have it spot on.
