If you are like me, you like to know what the weather is in the morning before you go outside, or before you go to bed. In the winter especially, I like to be able to know without going outside.

Living in New York state and the weather is like living with a person that can’t make up their mind.  Our nights this summer have been as low as 48ºf and as high as 98ºf during the day.  Couple that with the humidity, thunderstorms, UV index and it goes on and on. The AcuRite Wireless Weather Station has been very welcomed in our home.

More About the AcuRite Wireless Weather Station

The AcuRite 01036 Complete Wireless Color Weather Station with Weather Ticker uses patented Self-Calibrating Technology to provide a personal forecast of 12 to 24-hour weather conditions. The self-Calibrating Forecasting comes from the weather data which is measured by a sensor in your yard – giving you the most accurate forecast available for your exact location. I found this interesting as I wondered how it knew the exact information for our location.

Acurite link remote monitoring

This I love!  With the PC Connect feature, it gives you a new way to access your environmental data.  All you have to do is easily connect the weather station’s display right to your computer with the provided USB cable and view your data online at AcuLink.com or on your smartphone or tablet by using the free AcuRite mobile app for iPhone, Android or iPad.

The Integrated Multi-Sensor is completely wireless and contains a self-emptying rain collector for measuring rainfall, temperature/humidity sensor, anemometer, and a wind vane. The anemometer measures wind speed, and the wind vane measures wind direction. The Integrated Multi-Sensor is battery powered and features a solar panel for running an internal aspirating fan. The internal fan will assist in drawing ambient air through to reduce the heating effects of solar radiation, resulting in a more accurate air temperature measurement. This is just the neatest thing.  It is important that you follow the directions so that your unit is pointing in the right direction.

AcuRite Display

AcuRite 01036’s illuminated color LCD screen includes indoor/outdoor temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, wind chill, rainfall, barometric pressure, a clock, calendar and more. You can personalize the Weather Ticker to stream the information you want or feel is helpful to you. The custom programmable alarms will alert you when weather conditions change. The display stands upright for tabletop use or is wall-mountable. We have ours on our entertainment center (and it doesn’t interfere with our TV reception).  If yours does, just position it in another area or on the wall. The patent-pending wireless outdoor sensor features five different technologies in one easy-to-mount unit that combines thermometer, hygrometer, wind speed anemometer, wind direction vane, and a self-emptying rain gauge. When I first saw this it reminded me of a small space ship.  I love that it measures the rain, that is one thing none of our other weather systems had. (Yes they were either cheap or inexpensive and we paid for what we got.)  This unit has a 1-year limited warranty. You will see that it is not only accurate, it’s AcuRite!
